Artwork
Original oil paintings inspired by spirituality, imagination, symbolism and life.
The paintings below are selected earlier and recent works by Vani. They are now held in private collections and are not available for sale.
Together, they offer a glimpse into the ideas and experiences that have shaped her artwork over different periods of her creative and spiritual journey.
Painting is another important part of Vani Kaushal’s creative life.
Working primarily with oil on canvas, Vani creates original paintings that bring together spirituality, fantasy, symbolism, real places, personal experiences and imagined worlds. Her work often moves between the real and the unseen, using colour, landscapes, words and symbolic elements to explore ideas of love, faith, possibility, spiritual growth and the inner journey.
Some paintings emerge from a particular experience or phase in Vani’s own life. Others begin with a place, an idea, a line of thought or an image and gradually develop into something more imaginative.
Words also appear frequently within her artwork. As a novelist and former journalist, language has always been central to Vani’s creative expression. In her paintings, words sometimes become part of the visual story itself.
Vani’s paintings vary considerably in size and composition. Some are large, immersive canvases, while others are smaller and more intimate works. She does not work to a fixed format, allowing the idea behind each painting to determine how the work develops.

Commission an Original Painting
Vani accepts a limited number of commissioned oil paintings.
Her commissioned artwork is intended for people looking for something personal and original rather than a reproduction of an existing image.
A commission may begin with a story, memory, meaningful place, relationship, spiritual idea, life transition or personal theme. Vani then interprets the idea through her own imaginative and symbolic style.
Depending upon the concept, a commissioned painting may incorporate elements from real life alongside fantasy, symbolism, words or spiritual themes.
Each commission is discussed individually before Vani accepts the work. The size of the canvas, creative direction, approximate completion time and price are agreed in advance.
Because the work is interpretative, a commission does not mean creating an exact photographic reproduction of an image supplied by the client. The intention is to create an original painting inspired by the client’s idea while retaining Vani’s own creative expression.
Vani accepts commissions selectively according to the nature of the project and her availability.
