Two figures, aeroplanes and prayer flags — reunion, divine timing and the journeys that lead two paths to meet.
The Story Behind the Painting
One of Vani’s more recent works, At the Right Time, God Leads You to the Right Place brings together spirituality, love, movement, place and divine timing.
The painting is particularly connected with the idea of twin flames and physical reunion after separation.
Two figures stand together before an opening into another landscape. Beyond them lies Mumbai. A winding route moves through the scene, aeroplanes cross the sky and prayer flags frame the world beyond.
The two figures are important. They are not travelling towards the destination alone. They stand beside one another as counterparts after having travelled through difficult journeys separately.
For Vani, the painting represents the possibility that two people may spend long periods following their individual paths, experiencing separation, change and growth, yet ultimately arrive at the right place at the right time to stand beside one another again.
Mumbai is therefore both a real geographical destination within the painting and part of a larger symbolic journey.
The work is about hope, faith, possibility, reunion after separation, love and togetherness. It reflects the belief that timing cannot always be forced and that some journeys unfold individually before two paths are able to meet.
Like much of Vani’s artwork, the painting allows the physical and spiritual worlds to overlap. A road can be both a road and a life journey. A city can be both a destination and a new beginning. And arriving at the right place can mean something very different when the person who belongs beside you has arrived there too.
