Blue doors opening onto a colourful hillside town — faith, hope and possibility rendered as a place not yet visited.
The Story Behind the Painting
God Will Open Doors No One Can Shut was created during a particularly difficult and challenging period in Vani’s life, when hope and faith in what might lie ahead became especially important.
A pair of blue doors opens onto a colourful hillside town by the sea. The town is Santorini, but the painting is not about Santorini itself. Here, it represents the kind of place that might unexpectedly exist on the other side of a door: somewhere beautiful, exciting and romantic, somewhere not yet visited or perhaps not even imagined.
The doors become a symbol of possibilities that cannot yet be seen.
For Vani, the painting grew from the need to trust that difficult circumstances could eventually open into something better, and that when the right doors opened, there would also be the means and opportunities to experience what lay beyond them.
The words God Will Open Doors No One Can Shut turn the scene into an expression of faith, hope and possibility. What lies beyond the doors is deliberately inviting but unknown: adventure, romance, abundance, a different landscape, or simply a life that has not revealed itself yet.
The painting reflects an approach that appears repeatedly in Vani’s work: taking recognisable elements from the physical world and combining them with words, imagination and spiritual symbolism to create another story around them.
