Evidential Mediumship
Connection, recognition, communication and guidance with a specific departed loved one
Evidential mediumship is a form of spiritual communication in which Vani connects with a specific departed loved one and communicates the evidence, messages and guidance that come through.
At Vajrakaya Healings, Vani’s work focuses specifically on evidential mediumship. This means that an evidential mediumship session begins by establishing recognition through specific personal evidence connected with the departed person, rather than beginning with general messages or information supplied beforehand.
Someone may seek a mediumship reading after losing a parent, partner, child, grandparent, sibling, close friend or another person who was deeply significant in their life.
For some, there may be unfinished conversations or questions that were never answered. Others may simply want the reassurance of recognising that the person they loved is still able to communicate with them.
Clients may also wish to ask their loved one for guidance about situations they are navigating in their own lives, including family, relationships, career, finances, relocation or other important decisions.
The work is approached privately, respectfully and with compassion.
What Is Evidential Mediumship?
Evidential mediumship places emphasis on recognition and specific evidence.
The purpose is not simply to make broad statements that could apply to anyone. Vani first establishes the connection through information that the client can recognise as being personally associated with the departed loved one.
Evidence may include:
- Personal memories
- Mannerisms or characteristics
- Interests and preferences
- Physical appearance
- Shared experiences
- Family details
- Images
- Sounds or words
- Feelings and emotions
- Symbolic scenes
- Impressions
- Clear knowing
Vani’s clairvoyant, clairaudient, clairsentient and claircognizant abilities form part of the way she receives and interprets this information.
Only after the connection has been established does the session move more fully into messages, communication and the client’s own questions.
How Vani Approaches an Evidential Mediumship Reading
As an evidential medium, Vani requires very little information before the session.
The client does not need to provide the loved one’s name, date of birth, date of passing, photographs, background stories or details of their relationship.
They need only tell Vani the relationship of the person they wish to connect with, for example:
- Mother
- Father
- Partner or spouse
- Child
- Sibling
- Grandparent
- Friend
This allows the evidence to emerge without the mediumship reading being shaped by information supplied beforehand.
Vani focuses on one specific departed loved one during each session. This provides sufficient time and space for the connection to be established, the evidence and messages to come through and the client to ask the questions that matter to them.
What Happens During an Evidential Mediumship Session?
An evidential mediumship session is conducted privately and one-to-one through Zoom or Google Meet.
The session generally unfolds in stages.
Vani first connects with the departed loved one and begins sharing the evidence she receives.
This may include small but personally significant details, memories, mannerisms, interests, experiences, appearances or other information that is recognisable to the client.
Once the connection has been established, Vani communicates the messages and information that come through.
The client then has the opportunity to ask questions.
These may relate directly to the loved one or the relationship they shared. They may also concern matters in the client’s present life.
For example, someone may wish to ask their loved one about:
- A family situation
- A relationship
- Career or professional direction
- Financial concerns
- A possible job change
- Moving to another city or country
- An important personal decision
- A situation affecting other members of the family
Guidance that comes through is shared as guidance, not as an instruction that the client is required to follow.
Free will remains paramount.
Who May Find Evidential Mediumship Relevant?
People seek mediumship for many different reasons.
A session may be meaningful for someone who:
- Wishes to connect with a specific departed loved one
- Experienced a sudden or unexpected loss
- Had no opportunity for a final goodbye
- Has questions they never had the opportunity to ask
- Is carrying unresolved feelings around the relationship
- Wants reassurance or recognition
- Wishes to receive messages from their loved one
- Would like their loved one’s perspective on a present-life situation
- Is seeking a sense of connection, peace or closure
Mediumship does not erase grief and is not intended to replace the natural grieving process.
For some people, however, an evidential mediumship reading can become one meaningful part of their journey through loss.
Messages, Questions and Guidance
An evidential mediumship session is not limited to Vani communicating whatever messages arise spontaneously.
After Vani has established the connection and shared the evidence and initial messages, the client is able to ask questions.
A loved one may offer a perspective on something occurring in the client’s life, but mediumship does not place responsibility for the client’s choices onto the departed person.
Any guidance is supportive rather than prescriptive.
The client remains responsible for their own decisions, and information received during a session is not treated as fixed destiny.
How Is Evidential Mediumship Different From Psychic Guidance?
The two services have different purposes.
Evidential Mediumship centres on communication with a specific departed loved one. Recognition and evidence come first, followed by messages, communication and the client’s questions.
Psychic Guidance focuses primarily on the client’s own life, circumstances, choices and possible future pathways. It does not require communication with someone who has passed.
A person specifically wishing to communicate with a loved one should therefore choose Evidential Mediumship. Someone seeking focused guidance around three questions relating to their own life may find Psychic Guidance more appropriate.
How Is Evidential Mediumship Different From an Akashic Records Reading?
An Akashic Records Reading involves Vani accessing the client’s own Akashic Records and exploring questions relating to the soul’s experiences, patterns, relationships, past lives, purpose and possibilities.
Evidential Mediumship involves establishing communication with a specific departed loved one through evidence and recognition.
A departed loved one may occasionally emerge naturally during an Akashic Records Reading where relevant, but an Akashic session is not a substitute for a dedicated mediumship session.

Frequently Asked Questions
Very little. The client only needs to tell Vani their relationship with the departed loved one they wish to connect with.
Names, dates, photographs, background stories or detailed information are not required beforehand. This allows the evidence to emerge independently during the session.
Yes. After Vani has established the connection and shared the evidence and messages that come through, the client can ask questions.
These may concern the relationship itself or situations the client is currently facing in their own life.
Yes. Clients sometimes wish to hear their loved one’s perspective on current-life matters such as career, finances, family issues, relationships, relocation or important decisions.
Where guidance comes through, Vani communicates it to the client. It remains guidance rather than a command or fixed prediction, and the client’s own judgement and free will remain central.
Mediumship is not primarily a predictive practice.
A departed loved one may offer guidance or perspective about a situation, but future information is not treated as fixed destiny. Circumstances and choices can change.
Not every piece of information necessarily makes immediate sense to the client. Sometimes a detail may be recognised later, remembered after the session or confirmed by another family member. At other times, the client may simply be unable to validate it.
Vani does not ask clients to make information fit. Evidential mediumship is approached openly, and anything that cannot be recognised or confirmed is left as such.
Within the spiritual framework of Vani’s mediumship work, connecting with a departed loved one is not understood as disturbing them. The intention is one of love, communication and connection. Vani’s experience of mediumship is that the relationship does not simply cease with physical death. Loved ones may continue to make their presence felt in different ways, including through dreams, memories, signs or a sense of connection.
A mediumship session offers another way of opening that communication. It is approached with respect and compassion, without the belief that the departed loved one is being pulled away from their own journey or evolution.
No. Within Vani’s experience of evidential mediumship, the age at which a loved one passed does not determine whether communication is possible.
Vani has, for example, connected with a child who passed at just 11 months old. During the session, information emerged that the family could recognise and validate, including details relating to their lives several years after the child’s passing.
In another session, Vani connected with a father who had passed when his daughter was still a baby. Although she was around 50 years old by the time of the mediumship session, information emerged relating to experiences and events from her life in the intervening years.
These experiences form part of Vani’s understanding that communication in mediumship is not limited by the age at which someone passed, or by how long ago their physical death occurred.
Sometimes. People may come to a mediumship session having experienced a vivid dream, an unusual occurrence or something they feel may have been a sign from their departed loved one.
Where information emerges during the session that clearly relates to that experience, Vani may be able to offer confirmation. At other times, the loved one may not refer to the particular sign or experience at all. In that case, Vani will not interpret it as confirmed simply because the client asks about it.
The evidential connection is established through the wider body of information that emerges during the session, rather than depending upon confirmation of one particular sign, dream or experience.
A relationship does not have to have been perfect for an evidential mediumship session to be meaningful. Where there was conflict, anger, misunderstanding or something left unsaid before the person’s passing, communication may still occur.
The session is approached with compassion and understanding rather than blame.
The session focuses on one specific departed loved one. This allows sufficient time for recognition, evidence, communication, messages and the client’s own questions.
No mediumship session can guarantee a particular communication or determine exactly what information will emerge.
Vani works with the intention of connecting with the specific loved one the client wishes to reach and asks only for their relationship to the client beforehand. Where a connection is established, she first works with evidential information before moving into messages, communication and questions.
If a connection cannot be established clearly enough for Vani to feel confident in it, she will not present it as one.
Yes. Within Vani’s mediumship work, the circumstances in which a person passed do not make them any less a loved one or prevent a connection from being approached.
Vani does not define or judge a person by the manner of their death. Every connection is approached with the same love, compassion, warmth and respect, regardless of the circumstances surrounding their passing.
Clients sometimes worry that a loved one who experienced a difficult death may come through distressed, angry or otherwise difficult to communicate with. This has not been Vani’s experience of evidential mediumship. The communication is held within a calm, compassionate and respectful space.
Yes. Spiritual protection is an integral part of Vani’s approach to mediumship. As a Reiki healer, Vani protects the space and the session with Reiki light before beginning. The work is approached with clear intention, respect and appropriate spiritual boundaries throughout.
Mediumship at Vajrakaya Healings is not approached through fear or sensationalism. The intention is specifically to establish an evidential connection with the departed loved one the client has come to communicate with, within a space held with care and protection.
No. Evidential mediumship sessions are conducted live through Zoom or Google Meet, so clients can work with Vani from anywhere in the world.
Yes. Sessions are conducted privately and one-to-one. Client privacy and confidentiality are integral to Vani’s practice.
A session generally lasts approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes.
No. Mediumship is a spiritual practice and should not replace grief counselling, psychological care or other appropriately qualified professional support where such support is needed.
