The Recession Groom

Vani’s debut novel, written as the global recession of 2008–09 was unfolding around her. A story about marriage and money under pressure, told with humour, and read widely as commentary on both Western and Indian social attitudes toward economic hardship.

It drew reviews across major Indian publications on release, from Malayala Manorama to The Hindu to Anandabazar Patrika.
